BritBox, Bowersock Gallery's latest exhibit, features a chamber group of artists from across the pond and an incredible range of styles and media.
The show opens June 30th, 2023, with a 7-9 pm reception and runs through July 12th.
What better way to enjoy July 4th weekend than to show the Brits there are no hard feelings! All humor aside, these ex-pats have lived in the US for quite some time, and more importantly, Brit is a powerhouse collection of artists, including Emma Ashby, one of the gallery’s top sellers, who will present all new work.
The lineup also includes the gallery’s stable artists, painter Paul Beckingham, and sculptor Neil Grant.
Ashby, BritBox’s featured artist, is an encaustic/multi-media artist returning to exhibit after a very successful sold-out show. This year's selection will feature a collection of her sought-after coastal landscapes, marshlands, and luscious florals. She’s been utilizing new color palettes and continues experimenting with incorporating clay into the medium.
Emma’s love for encaustic stems from the medium's versatility, its ability to be married to other materials, enabling her to create various textures and glass-like translucency. The more she works with encaustic and pushes the boundaries of this medium, she realizes the endless possibilities.
Representational sculptor Grant has been a gallery favorite for years. Neil's powerful sculpture, Rising Anger, a passionate multi-piece work, remains one of the most talked about pieces in the gallery. All of his pieces, from Peeking Duck to Go to his tender King at the Bottom of the Garden, where man and frog meet, noticeably engage the patrons at Bowersock.
Photorealist painter Beckingham has made his mark with several subjects. His florals are moody, stunning, and bold, and the meticulous shoreside architectural seaside scenes absolutely fascinating.
Join us for an exciting exhibit with artists who offer a bounty of talent and variety!
