Biography:
Born in California and raised in Idaho, Darlou Gams has nurtured a lifelong passion for art, aspiring from a young age to become a professional artist.
She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Summa Cum Laude, from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California
After graduating with distinction, Gams achieved success as a freelance artist and illustrator, contributing to projects such as "Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned" (1999), "Pepper's Adventures in Time" (1993), and "King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow" (1992).
Transitioning to a full-time fine artist, Gams focuses on the interplay of light, movement, color, design, and texture in both natural settings and the human form. Her work balances realism with ethereal qualities, often drawing inspiration from nature and influenced by artists such as George Inness, Gustav Klimt, and Anders Zorn.
Gams currently resides in New Hampshire. Her work is featured in private and corporate collections worldwide, reflecting her evolving expressions of her surroundings and vision.
In addition to her painting career, Gams has experience as a game artist, having worked on several notable video game titles in the 1990s.
Her artistic journey has been marked by a dedication to capturing the subtleties of light and atmosphere, resulting in works that resonate with both contemporary tonalism and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
