Megan Howland is a contemporary figurative oil painter.
Inspirations include the human condition.
Education: New Hampshire Institute of Art
Meghan Howland was born in Haverhill, Massachusettes in 1985.
Meghan’s paintings are often dreamlike and harmonious in quality yet, concurrently, carry a weight of that which is slightly more dissonant, in nature. The question of whether something is safe or dangerous, loving or hateful, is often unexplained in her work.
While conveying an ambiguous situation or mood, the viewer is left with the responsibility of resolving what’s happening, thus creating a space where an unending range of emotions, and possibilities, can live.
