Erin Murray

Erin Murray is a contemporary representational painter working in oil and acrylic her subjects are magical realism, human and animal utopian/dystopian futuristic paintings.
Inspirations include nature/animals, environmentalism, feminism, psychology, sociology.

Over ten solo and two-person shows (3 sold out), over thirty juried shows, over 20 group shows.

Erin Murray, originally of Waynesboro, Virginia currently lives in Harrisonburg, Virginia and works full time at her home painting studio and her studio in downtown Staunton, Virginia. She studied at the College of William and Mary, where she earned her BA in Fine Art, and at the University of New Hampshire, where she received her MFA in Painting. Since completed her MFA, she has taught painting and drawing courses at the University of New Hampshire, Sanctuary Arts (Eliot, ME), Carroll Community College (Westminster, MD), Blue Ridge Community College (Weyers Cave, VA), and Larkin Arts (Harrisonburg, VA). She is primarily interested in creating work that explores our relationship with each other and the natural world.
