Chris Pothier is a representational oil painter his subjects are still life and figures in narrative settings.
Inspirations include Carel Fabritius, Peter Brueghel, Guercino, da Vinci, Gustave Courbet.
Education: the University of Massachusetts at Amherst- BFA Painting.
Christopher Pothier has spent his time, after studies, as a self-employed artist mainly producing commissioned works of art and large scale murals. As well, he continues to show his original paintings in various locations throughout New England.
The subject matter of his original works tells a narrative story with figures and finds interesting angles showing objects in unique placement and positions.
Christopher believes that one’s art is a lifelong journey of expression, an explanation of inner philosophies, and that which comments on larger societal histories and trends.
