Area’s of Exploration is about peering into the rabbit hole, and contemplating the Rorschach Ink Blot. It’s about questions that lead to more questions, with nearly every answer correct.
 

 

Steve Bowersock’s paintings and Jeanne’ McCartin sculpture and sculpted emotion-tableaux, are about beauty with a hint of unease, stories told in visible speech; “an ongoing nonverbal conversations with the viewer that continually unfolds,” Bowersock, gallery co owner says. The show also introduces the bronze sculpture of Lauren Holmgren, whose work is similarly challenging.

Fusion: noun, a nuclear reaction in which nuclei combine to form more massive nuclei with the simultaneous release of energy; that OR an exhibit featuring Catherine Nash, Kim Bernard and Marissa Girard.  Girard explores the interactions between man-made environments and the natural world, with contemporary images of telephone poles, electrical wires, color drenched substations and expressive skies achieved through layering, a cold wax medium.

“Spring Preview” introduction 6 new artists and celebrating 6 with the gallery since opening in 2004
May 2nd with a reception from 6 to 8 and runs through May 20th.

The Gallery will open for its tenth season with a nod to the new and homage to its history. The “Spring Preview” will introduce six new artists and highlight the work of an addition six that have exhibited with Bowersock since it opened in Provincetown a decade ago.
