Lynn Libby

Lynn Libby is a classic with contemporary soft pastels and pastel pencils on paper her subjects include seascapes, clouds and sea, sky and water.
Inspirations include Childe Hassan, Winslow Homer, N.C. Wyeth, Maxfield Parrish, J.M.W. Turner.  


EDUCATION: High school in Paris and college in Munich, self study in the great museums of London, New York and Washington D. C.

BIOGRAPHY
Lynne Libby has a passion for sea and sky which is reflected in her work. She grew up on the Jersey Shore in Sea Girt, NJ, and now lives on the ocean on Key Biscayne, Florida. She works exclusively in soft pastels, with a drawing technique in a painting style, she finds the colors of the pastels to be both luminous and natural looking.

An award winning artist for 40 years, she has had a solo show on Crystal Cruise Line ships Symphony and Serenity, is a signature member of The National Pastel Society, and voted best artist on Key Biscayne 4 years by the Islander News.

Corporate collections include Shands Hospital, Sun Bank, Mirafi, walt Disney World.

When asked which is her favorite pastel she has done, she steals a quote from Renoir - "the one I'm about to do!"
